THE 2024 IAPN BOOK PRIZE HAS JUST BEEN ANNOUNCED

The International Association of Professional Numismatists (IAPN) has just announced its yearly book prize granted to the author of a numismatic book published in 2023.
The winner this year was Mr. Jerome Mairat for his book "ROMAN IMPERIAL COINAGE, VOL. 4: THE GALLIC EMPIRE (AD 260-274)" (SPINK, LONDON, UK).
The decision was made by a jury on the basis of a preselection of 23 relevant books published during 2023.
We are proud to announce that our book "The History of the Coin Circulation in Cuba" (Ed. Punto Rojo Libros, Seville, Spain) was listed among the 23 titles preselected by the members of the IAPN. We are really pleased and grateful for the preselection of a book focused on Cuban numismatics as candidate to such a prestigious award. Thanks!

La Asociación Internacional de Numismáticos Profesionales (en inglés, IAPN) acaba de anunciar la concesión de su premio anual al autor de un libro numismático publicado en 2023.
El ganador de este año ha sido el Sr. Jerome Mairat por su libro "ROMAN IMPERIAL COINAGE, VOL. 4: THE GALLIC EMPIRE (AD 260-274)" (SPINK, LONDRES, REINO UNIDO).
La decisión fue tomada por un jurado a partir de una preselección de 23 libros relevantes publicados durante 2023 en campo de la numsimática.
Nos enorgullece anunciar que nuestro libro "The History of the Coin Circulation in Cuba" (Ed. "HISTORY OF THE COIN CIRCULATION IN CUBA", 2023, ED. PUNTO ROJO LIBROS
I just want to let you know that my new book “HISTORY OF THE COIN CIRCULATION IN CUBA” (Roberto Menchaca García, Editorial Punto Rojo Libros, 2023) has just been published.
The book is the continuation of an earlier work published in 2013, "La moneda cubana en circulación" (“The Cuban coins in circulation”), and delves into the study of the historical context in which the various types of coins have been produced in the country. To this aim, an extensive bibliographic research was carried out, covering inter alia numerous newspapers and magazines, official reports and the information contained in the archives of the Numismatic Museum of Havana.
The first chapter is devoted to the general study of the coinage made in each of the periods, that the Cuban history can be divided. The following chapters detail the characteristics of the various coins produced since 1915 till present. The coinage produced on behalf of the National Institute of Tourism and the convertible currency are discussed in a subsequent chapter.
The book further includes annexes containing detailed information on other coins of great significance in the history of Cuba, the use of countermarks in the island as well as the technical specifications of the coins discussed and the legal provisions authorising the coinage.

en la isla desde 1915 hasta 2012, con abundantes detalles técnicos así como

acuñadas.

además un capítulo dedicado a todas las emisiones de monedas por parte del
instituto de turismo (INTUR) y otro centrado en
las emisiones de moneda convertible realizadas en la isla hasta el 2012.
Finalmente
incluye dos anexos dedicados respectivamente a las monedas acuñadas en
1897/1898 y a los patrones de 1870.
